It's handy, but get this: it does have damage falloff. If you get really close with it, it deals more damage, noticed it while searching for that stupid phaseglass on Io. I was firing at that caged Taken while advancing, and when I got like five meters close, the damage started increasing, hitting even harder point-blank.
