I've installed a Creative AE-5 and just wanted to drop a quick message to those of you who think a dedicated sound cards are no better than onboard.
You're wrong.
The onboard realtek with Creative X-Fi MB-5 software on my GA-AX370-Gaming K7 sounds underwater in comparison. Listening to pink floyd, you can really hear the differences in the treble and mid tones and bass seems more defined. I'm able to pick out the location of each sound more easily accross my 5.1 setup as well.
Whilst it's better, it's debateable if it's worth the cost. It depends how much you care about sound.
