Bastion is a lot more of a build around character. If you play it then your team have to also be able to support you to some degree and they have to put some resources into you for Bastion to be effective. That’s why strategy’s like the pirate ship work really well, is because when Bastion is built around and protected, it is a very hard strategy to counter, but the second they finally do kill you, the rest of the team crumbles fairly easily.
