I'm putting together a list of parts I need, watching a butt load of videos and such but they don't seem to be telling me what I need to know.

How does one choose ram for a computer? I know how much I want. I know the number of pins but some of the ram cards I see list the model of the mother board like Z270.

Does this model really matter or is it the most important piece of the puzzle?

Choose your ram by checking the qvl list for the motherboard you've selected.

Maybe read more than watch videos?
A Z270 board takes DDR4 RAM.

And when you pick your motherboard, as long as you get RAM from a reputable brand (G. skill, corsair, etc.) you’ll be fine
RAM is RAM lol
