I think the best way(s) to revive D2 for the players that have given up on it are:
1.A battle royale mode and map (Mercury, The inverted spire raid battlefield or EDZ).
2.Duel mode while on planets (players can ask another players for 1v1 duel).
3.Unlocking the points where you couldnt climb for some rewards(for example on EDZ or any other planet you have a limit for how high can you get/climb/fly.)
4.Spaceships fights (since the spaceships are pretty useless right now).
5.After completing campaign on Titan, there are no more Hive fighters inside the Arcology + adding lost sectors there where the Hive can be found.
6.Companions, you can recruit a NPC to help you, also you can equip him with some of your items but cant use super, only 2 charges of grenades from a class you choose.
6.Bows as power weapons.
7. 3rd person view.
8.A better minimap (with terrain and roads on which you can and cannot go).
Which one would you like if it was added? Would one of them make you return to D2 if you have already left it?
