They're usually farther out than the coast, maybe try making a raft and sail around looking for them but be careful that the giant whale thing that can spawn doesn't hit your raft too much, it'll destroy it in a couple bites I believe

W-2 or W1 beach. Killed a 150 right on the shoreline. Also w3 by the pearls in the snow area.
