Hey guys. I'm level 17 and going through the story. I am diligently trying to learn more about destiny as I never played the first one. Are there things I shouldn't be doing? I know not to dismantle exotics and blue scout rifles. But I see a lot of people talking about not getting some special gear until late game. How do I know to avoid it?

Basically avoid the milestones when you unlock it. You can dismantle exotics if you want, you can take it again from the vault using 10 legendary shards

After you get to 20 grind public events ignoring everything until you’re 265. Then turn in tokens and do your milestones to get better gear
