Hey guys, has any 8700K user noticed/documented performance issues after Meltdown/Spectre patches?
Also, anybody went from 4790K to 8700K? Was it worth it? Please share your experience

Dude, I'm on that boat right now lol
Upgrading to 8700k from 4790k. Motherboard is coming in today,that is the last part I need.
I should be able to tell you later today
I'm assuming since the 4790k is part of the Haswell line (Devil's Canyon) then there will be a performance drop, but I've read that it is temporary until they can figure out how to truly fix it. So, it can be a year or it can be a few months/weeks.

For gaming there is no performance difference.. I couldn't care less about the Meltdown hype.

older gen will be hit harder from the patch, which makes it totally worth it to upgrade to 8th gen.

it's like the y2k thing of the past... i am using haswell, i don't see a damn thing wrong with my laptop. one thing i did so far, installed windows7 and disabled updates totally.
