Guys I’m quite new to pc gaming building my rig around 6 months ago. Have the following:

I7-7700
GTX G1 gaming 1080 GPU
16gb

What would anyone upgrade first?

Monitor is (I think) top drawer - ASUS rog 1440p 165hz.

Well, you have great compents listed. Did you happen to grab a cheap mobo or slow ram? That's all I can think of.

You already have a decent enough rig for the time being.
But if you really must upgrade then before anything and everything you need to ask yourself what lacks in your current setup.

If you think it's CPU,
Go for a new processor, like i9-7900x

What about cooling solutions?
What do you use?

Is your case spacious enough for proper air-flow?
Ask yourself the necessary questions, first.

Dude you're set for a while, processor and gpu and ram are fine, only thing is to get an ssd if you don't have one already

For a perfect upgrade. i think up that 7700 to 7700k and OC. Use AIO Watercooling. And ssd + extra ram
