Finally got got a wolf link to open and use ( at retail happily ) question is... Can me and my kid use the same one on each of our botw saves without it affecting anything? Anyone know??

We can with our Botw amibos with no issue so I think you should be able to with WolfLink

I know you can with others. But when using the wolf link you level up the wolf. So I wasn't sure if that would be linked to one save only.

You can, the wolf link level is determined by your secret dungeon progress is twilight princess. For BOTW each profile can use wolf link once a day, once he dies in combat you have to wait till the next day to use again
