Nope, if you have ample space for air to circulate...it's not needed.

It shouldn't be a problem at all while it's docked, handheld mode maybe

I've had no problems with it overheating but I've never played it for more than 3 hours at a time.

I do but I've always had a desk fan pointed on my systems. I've done it ever since my 360 started overheating. It's not really needed tho the switch has a pretty good internal fan

I do, but I wish to own a swith,I do it to my 360 it's internal fan has not worked in a year. And with the fart fan is still kiking.

No. It's not necessary. Nintendo makes great products... I've never had a Nintendo systerm over heat or ever stop working for any reason at all.

Mine doesn't overheat I just don't want it to warp with the heat from 5 or 6 hours of play in dock mode
