Can anyone help with a controller adapter? My kids got this:

so they could use some of the old controllers we have laying around, but they can't get it working. The light comes on when it's plugged into a PC, but not the Switch. I'm wondering if there's anything else they can try to get it working, or if I should just return it. Thanks!

It’s only for those controllers listed on their site not 3rd party ones. Manually update the usb stick firmware. Then try again.
I use the COOV and a wired Sony PS4 pad works fine. So does my Hayabusa V stick in PC Mode depending on the game itself.
