Building my first water loop, any tips on how to plan it out? Mainly to decide where an angled fitting should be etc.

Be sure to buy extra tubing

Yup. Extra tubing. I use copper house wire as a guide for my bends. Easy to bend and use as a guide.

I got a cheap coil of copper tubing from Lowes which I use for guides and schematics that I can bed, cut, and change configurations before the final build.

Can't stress the extra tubing. Even if you don't need it, you may look at your build and want to make changes later. Buy a couple extra fittings and maybe a couple angles just in case.

Windows paint, or even something like blender where you can make a replica of the case at percise measurements and tube bends
