USB 3 have higher transfer rate. Thats all that i know.

if you are using USB 2 in USB 3 port then u are just limited with transfer rate equal to USB 2, and some cases it doesnt reconize the device.< have happened with me.

Nope, actually pissed me off yesterday...was trying to boot 10 from a USB stick on a new setup. The USB was not recognized, tried drivers, software, reloading the stick...nothing for 3 hours. Then I pulled my usb2 drive out of the usb3 slot and popped it into a regular slot and poof, like magic

Nope not really BUT you can sometimes get lower controller latency by plugging then into a usb 3 port
