low frequency do go through material better than high frequency.
You could put your base box on top of a soft material, like a pillow or thick foam. It would reduce the vibrations directly on the resonant wall or floor.

Egg cartons make decent sound proofing on the cheap. You can get stacks of the cheap ones at places like tractor supply
