Also if you are careful enough you won't get a virus on your PC, don't download softwares from websites you don't trust and you will be fine

I don't use any, just don't go to sketch sites, honestly not having it is a great way to go, cause you don't get that false sense of security that having virus protection gives you, and you think more about the seediness of the site you are entering, it keeps you safe. Kinda like how studies show people get hurt more often when they ride bikes with helmets cause they feel safer, but without it, though you could get more hurt, you tend to ride slower and more carefully.
