A friend of mine wanted a very budged oriented gaming PC. So we decided we're gonna build him one out of second hand parts. Browsed the listings online and were aiming for something like a i5 3570 with a GTX 660/670 combo. Budget was €325 for the entire build. In the end we found an already build PC with the following specifications:

Motherboard: ASUS P8H61M-LX3 PLUS R 2.0.
Processor: Intel Core I7 2600
Videocard: PALIT GTX770 2GB GDDR5 256BIT
Memory: Kingston - 8GB /2x4GB/ DDR3
Hard drive: WESTERN DIGITAL BLUE 1TB.
PSU: SEGOTEP GTR-550. 550W
Case: SEGOTEP HALO GAMING CASE

Case and PSU are brand new with warranty.

Price was €350. We kinda went over budget but for what was available I think this is a great purchase. My friend is now extremely happy he can play CS:GO at ~250fps.
What do yo guys think?

Should've gone for a i3 with a GTX 1050

Do you mean new? That wouldn't have fit our budget. CPU and GPU alone would've eaten 80% of our budget. Second hand 1050s are not at very good prices as well. i3 would've only been beneficial if it were a Coffee Lake 4c/4t one. Any recent 8 thread i7 is miles better for gaming compared to a 2c/4t i3, regardless of clock speed.

Average video quality (maybe sometime even lower) gaming experience is enough from my perspective. Unless you will not stream, recording etc. (depending your settings, low settings would not give any problem) , it is a good choice. tho in future if you plan to upgrade, I suggest make a strategic plan. Anyways, happy gaming bro.
