it gave me the option during the beta to run it. It must have changed

Again .... all the Videos of it running on C2D's are from BETA, not final retail release. Try again.

A minimum cpu block doesn't mean the game won't run on it, it just means the devs set it as a minimum. There's probably an east file mod to allow it to accept your cpu. Many games are optimized to run on a few cores. Try again.
