Why Ryzen can achieve such a good success but Vega is still a mess?
So here is the updated information.
RX Vega 64 will sell in three varients.
Standalone, black pack and liquid cooled.
Standalone will sell for $499
Black Pack will sell for $599
And liquid versión will sell for $699.
Black pack and liquid versión will come with two games. Which essentially means these games aren't free, you pay extra $100 for it.
Here's the catch though, AMD doesn't mention how many standalone version will be sold in relation to the black pack. Which means standalone can be as rare as 1:10 to that of the black packs. In addition to that, people are way more likely to buy the standalone version as it's $100 cheaper. This can effectively change the RX Vega MSRP from $499 to $599.
According so some websites, First drivers updates are optimized for mining, and with result showing up to 40MH of Vega 64, UP to 36MH of Vega 56, there will be some miners buying that, as the card doesn't draw that much power when mining.
Let's hope that Radeon team will do gaming drivers next.
Because 350-400W when gaming for the card alone, + $599 price is not really that gamer friendly. Especially for those who already own a freesync monitor and just waiting for Vega.
