In descending order of importance
1 - Self improvement and playing the game in a serious way with others who are taking it seriously. Quickplay is nice, but sometimes it does get frustrating when every match is Hanzo and Widow in a 2 stack, no tanks, and I'm left to heal 5 dps. (I'm nothing short of happy to play Mercy, buuuuuuuuuut...)
2 - Golden Mercy gun <3 After that I can just die happy or something lmao. (slight exaggeration)
3 - I prefer at least maintaining *an* SR. It's not especially high, I'm statistically average, but competitive is the meat and potatoes of the game. It keeps you regular, even though you shouldn't ever do it exclusively.
4 - Competitive games give soooooooooooooo much more experience than other sorts of games. In my BUTTCLENCHINGLY TENSE 4 round match at Junkertown, I literally got OVER 9000!!!!!!!!!!!! experience.
