Eh don't tame bum anglers... Grab a magnifying glass look at the health and torpor. If 4x health is greater than topor you'll be fine. Otherwise it will die.

Build a trap. I preferred the stone pillar and ceiling and dino gate method as once I trapped it I can shoot anywhere within the trap.

Use a harpoon gun or high damage crossbow. Count to 5 between shots.
