I think this is only a US issue because in my findings from the same GPU I converted the price from US to UK and the UK price is actually $200 cheaper/ £200 cheaper either way I know this also because the pound is actually not far off the dollars since Brexit which made the currency £1 = $1 but now it's gone up slowly to £1 = $1.42 anyway as you can tell either way the difference is still big and £512 for a GTX 1080 is cheap compared to what it use to be at launch was £619
