yea ok whatever dude im a computer engineer, i custom build gaming rigs. 3rd party products isnot what makes the switch sell. switch is the biggest console atm being portable and offering same graphics and ps4 and such not pros or onex. just look at apple. no 3rd party there they monoipolize all thier products and they are the biggest cellphone company out there now.

The problem is not third party is ""unlicensed"", which Chinese manufacturers will built and cheap out on pcb design.
Articles and media outlet don't make that distinction which is really important, if you are a dock manufacturer with a license, Nintendo will make sure voltage, AC filters, IC are a 100% compatible and approved.
But licensed also means higher quality = more manufacturing cost.
Is not like Nintendo dock cost $60-70 just because Nintendo.

the cost is all about brand marketing, with the reputation of Nintendo, all the things will be more expensive although all of their products are MADE IN CHINA

It is not brand, marketing cost is added of course, but if you have the same product with:
Same design, same materials, same components, same size. Etc.
The licensed one will be more expensive as they will apply ISO standards to assure every single product is in the specifications. This cost is exponentially.
For example:
It is not same having a senior electronic engineer supervising a million dollar pick and place top of the line robot and a pcb test process after assembling; than having a diy regular joe soldering/reflowing parts by hand without any after assembly testing.
This things matter, and adds a lot to the cost of manufacturing.

The video suggests not to use any 3rd party devices. What about controller charges plugged in to the dock? Is that also a problem?

TLDR
if it supplies power to the console, use official products
