So my new motherboard has arrived (MSI B350 PC Mate) and it says Windows 10 ready, now does that mean i can take the hard drive out of my current pc that has windows 10 and move it to my build without buying a new installation disc?

But for a single component swap you should be able to run the same key

Use your current pc to download the ISO and mount it to a USB stick, swap motherboard and reinstall windows, phone Microsoft and explain the change in motherboard and they should migrate the key across

I find it’s hit and miss. I basically rebuilt my pc, the only part that was the same was the hard drive and I didn’t have to reinstall Windows.

Uninstall all your old drivers from old motherboard, reset bios, before swapping motherboard
