So i recently got this laptop for school (Acer F 15 aspire) with a core i5 7200U.

Say, hypothetically, a hypothetical friend broke his hypothetical laptop with an i7 7660U. Does anyone know if i could throw that processor in this laptop? The sockets are the same, im just wondering if its even possible to change out a processor

Im sure some modifications would have to be made for cooling lol

Seems quite modern.. You wouldn't be able to since the CPU isn't on a standard board such as your typical ATX.. it's probably a soldered chip

The CPUs are BGA socket, which means soldered in. Also, chipset is different. Also, the chips are rated at a much higher wattage then their U/Y counterparts. So unfortunately, its a straight no.
