Honestly, I agree with them giving it to Xur as well so that if PvP and Trials must be broken, at least everyone is on a level field. And with Xur being a day or two after the Lens hype really started, it was a good decision till the patch tomorrow, and it gave them more to to decide how best to handle things.

Plus the tweet after they had Xur sell it was priceless.
