I acquired a i7 3770 (non k) which I decided to put into a build for my stepson. I run a 4690k overclocked to 4.8. Im.guessing mine will be the better one for gaming?

Yes, it will be better but not by too much, maybe 10-15%

4690K 4.8 GHz will be faster in most cases. But in multi-threaded games like watch dogs both will be on par or i7 could be marginally faster

Curious what cooler you have in your 4690k, I've been trying to push mine with a single fan AIO so far it's stable at 4.5 GHz 1.222v and I average 68C highest I seen was 75C. What voltage and temps do you see at 4.8?

I did try 5.0 ghz but I couldn't quite get it stable enough and then the temps did start to climb up
