Hey guys, I picked Mario Kart 8 Deluxe last week and finally got to play a couple races. This is the first time I have ever played a Mario kart and wanted to know if you guys had any suggestions or tips.

Master the drift and always keep a shell in the back of the kart

Ok so I had banana peels and shells but didn't know how to throw them backwards

Drift Well. Disable auto steering so that you could reach the 3rd tier turbo when drifting. Press R when going on ramps to get a small speed boost. If you are leading try to save your banana or shells to use them to block incoming red shells or other attacks by holding it on your back. Long press L.
