Hey, ralph. could you check the continuity of all 3 poles on that aux cable? and if it's good, look for any cuts on the black rings which separate those poles. I have a faulty one with a cut. check both pins and if you don't find anything, try with another cable to see if the cable is causing the problem.
Why not just run the audio through an HDMI into the TV and then just plug in speakers into the headphone jack? That's what I did and I don't have an issue.
