any tips for removing/lapping out these burn marks... XOTICPC tech doesn't understand proper thermal compound, and heatsink application....i7 7700hq, gtx 1060 6gig

For the heatsink, I'd just tape some high-grit sandpaper to an appropriately sized ceramic/marble tile and lap away. I usually go to 2k grit because I have a ton of it, 800 would be a minimum IMO. For the die, I'd just Iso and q-tip it until it squeaks.
