. My question is what software will I need after I put all of this together to monitor the vital functions? What should I really pay attention to? Just temps? The first few days, I want to be extremely careful and watch things.

Shouldn't need anything, Asus should have software included to monitor things. Grab some Arctic Silver thermal compound before you order snd get some Arctic clean compound remover, clean CPU and heatsink completely and apply fresh paste, SPARINGLY. ARCTIC SILVER WILL CONDUCT ELECTRICITY. DONT GET ON MOTHERBOARD
